About This Game

10 SECOND NINJA X is a shockingly fast, overwhelmingly intense action/puzzle game. In this thumb blistering sequel, the nefarious Captain Greatbeard has kidnapped you and trapped your forest friends inside of his army of robots like some kind of psychopath. Greatbeard doesn't think you're the fastest ninja who ever lived - he is WRONG. Destroy all of Greatbeard's robots in each level in ten seconds or less. Be fast enough to get the coveted three star rating in each. For some reason, this game sat unplayed for a long time - something about it just didn't look fun to me ... then I played it. It's quite good; the writing is amusing, the gameplay is tight, it's got kind of a casual feel but still has an actual game to it.. The audio: Sound nice.
The graphics: Look good.
The controls: Seems solid.

But is the gameplay fun? Not quite.

To even get 3 stars at any level requires you to be flawless, and the level designs feel unclear about what you should even do first. I did enjoy the first game though, but this sequel is... iffy.. Fun fast pace game! Cane be really challenging. Great puzzle-platformer with short difficult levels and leaderboards.. Feels better than it looks. It's a decent platformer, but doesn't really add anything interesting, and there are hundreds of games like this.

Gameplay is interrupted by some forced story nobody cares about. I was in the middle of improving my time in a level and it threw me back to the lobby to sit through some incredibly fascinating dialogue. Why?

Attacks ought to happen ASAP if the button is pressed down. Instead, you have to either learn the reset timer or spam the button. Seems like an oversight.

Overall, the full price tag is ridiculous.. You, as a ninja, have just 10 seconds to eliminate every enemy on screen. At your disposal are three throwable shurikens and a sword. That’s it. You get rewarded anywhere from one to three stars based on your performance. 10 Second Ninja X is fast-paced fun. It can be the most aggravating yet satisfying feeling to finally beat one of those levels that you’ve been stuck at.. Going through my steam libray reviewing all the indie games I have! Starting off with this one :)

If you love speed running, challenging game play, and a game that requires quick reflexes then this is the game for you! You are tasked with killing all the enemies in the map as fast as you can, the clock doesn't start until you start actually moving which gives you a good opportunity to survey the map and determine what's the fastest and most effective way to slice or ninja star these robot pirates. The game really makes you think and I find that to be super fun! Trying to complete the level as fast as you possibly can while trying to make your every move count is very thrilling and when those three stars pop up at the end of the level it feels like you just defeated a boss in Dark Souls.

Some other reviews on Steam said this but it is very welcoming to newcomers of this genre despite being difficult. You only need to earn one star to progress onto the next level and the amount of stars needed to go onto the next stage are very fair.

The gameplay in this game is also very tight. Every move you make feels instantaneous which is really amazing for games like these where every move counts. I didn't play with a controller but they are settings in the main menu for it so if that's your thing it does have controller support.

Positives:

Great controls, simple and responsive.
Lots of levels, and going for a 3 star in each is pretty challenging.
A very neat mix of puzzle and speedrunning to find the optimal route and execute it.
Really dumb but enjoyable little story that is a nice touch.

Negatives:

Art is a little flash-game-y.
