Title: Fallout: A Post Nuclear Role Playing Game
Release Date: 30 Sep, 1997
This game as actually aged surprisingly well. I got this game as a fan of the series to see were it start and oh boy it's no surprise it went big. One this I would warn about is you probably won't be used to the controls at first. It took me about an hour to get the hang of it but when I did they were so smooth. The design is also a bit old so when doing common things such as alt tabing it's a bit harder to get back to the game, but you can use the task manager to reopen it. I would suggest this without a doubt, it's cheep and it'll give you a few hours of classic fun.. REally really good but confusing. Love this game but it's not for everyone the gameplay is slow, but the speed can be adjusted in the game settings.story in this game is top notch and same goes for music and visual style. Good stuff here.. I love playing Fallout 3 and New Vegas, so I bought this and Fallout 2 to try and experience what the earlier fallouts were like. I'm really disappointed too. I made three characters, all of which died before getting to Vault 15 because on the way there the RNG decided it hated me. Got ambushed by a bunch of rats that I couldnt even hit with two characters, then by 3 radscorps on the last one. Couldn't even kill one radscorp before getting stabbed to death. If i wanted to play something with garbage RNG I would have gone to XCOM. The first fallout is a pretty good game to start with. i think it would be better to start off with it.. very old and hard to learn maybe try to ease your self into older games before playing this one. The old and classic is just as good as the modern. I love playing old school rpgs and this one can be for you as well. The amount of customization and player choice is astounding. Worth the money for the amount of content put into this game. 5\/5 Fantastic!. Playing Fallout 1 changed my life and understanding of what a good video game looks like. It is timelessly immersive and probably the single best RPG I've ever played. You gotta get it.. this is a great game if you like RPGs and turn based games and if you only played the bethesda fallouts your missing out on alot. why do the rats attack you? like, the regular, rat sized rats. why is their first instinct, after seeing 30 other rats getting stabbed to death, to walk up to you and slowly nibble at your foot? rats in our world run away from people. what evolutionary advantage does this new rat behavior result in? if we were to conduct an evolutionary experiment right in the first area of the game, straight away the only rats that would survive to reproduce would be the rats that didn't walk up and kill themselves (assuming there are any). i can't imagine there are many people scavenging caves in the wasteland that don't have something at least as good as a knife, and skills at least as competent as failing to stab a fat, oily rat three times in a row.
i haven't played most of the game but i don't think i can after this.
