Set way in the future, Earth is no longer inhabitable, so humans have colonized in outer space. One colony receives two cryogenically frozen bodies, and when they defrost them, one of the bodies turns out to be.....who else? Jason Voorhees. No longer in the forest or Camp Crystal Lake, Jason stalks the colonists in a whole new environment.
Finally captured in the year 2008, Jason Voorhees (Kane Hodder) is held inside a government research facility whose sc...Lexa Doig), leader of the research project, prepares the specimen for cryogenic suspension, a greedy scientist goes over her head and comes to remove Jason, only to have the mad slasher break free and slaughter him and his entire entourage. Tricking Jason into following her, Rowan eludes him into entering the cryogenic freezer and begins the process, but a breach in the system causes her to freeze with him. The government tries to deny any evidence of the project, and nearly four centuries pass, during which the Earth gradually becomes less and less habitable and humans have relocated to a planet in another star system that they've named Earth II. A team of young students descends onto the ruined Earth, where they find the frozen bodies of Jason and Rowan in the forgotten research facility and take back on board their ship with them. Rowan is thawed and revived, but the team mistakes Jason to be dead, having no idea of his abilities or motives. Before long, Jason awakens to the sound of young people having premarital sex once again, and the carnage erupts once again as the ship proceeds to Earth II. The remaining survivors fight for their lives as the centuries-old mad slasher proves that he is just as evil and just as indestructible during their time as he was centuries before.
Jason X is one of the best of the series. It has comedy mixed with horror and you have to admit the special effects (for a F13 film) are pretty good. Don't listen to these idiots who go on and on about how "BAD" the acting is, Friday the 13th isn't trying to win an oscar, or be the summer blockbuster. Anyway Friday the 13th is to good for the Oscars, everyone knows only crap is nominated. Well take my advise just sit back have fun, this movie is great, you'll laugh, you'll jump, you'll have fun. I will keep my fingers crossed that this is the start for a come back for the franchise.
Jason X isn't a very bad sequel to the normal Friday the 13th sequels. Jason X takes place in 2455, earth is ruined and a group of archaelogist students, along with some soldiers and a teacher, take a trip to the ruined earth. That's when they come across two frozen bodies. One, a VERY hot girl. The other, some freaky guy wearing a hockey mask and wielding a machete. That's when the plot holes start to kick in. the first one, it is not very smart to thaw out a tall freak who is wearing a hockey mask and has a machete in his hand. Now what kind of idiots thaw out a person like that? Our doomed students are. So they unthaw the two bodies out and the first one is the hot girl. She tells them not to unthaw the other one because it is the infamous Jason Voorhees. But they're a little too late for that. Jason is already on the loose and might I add is VERY p**sed off. Then comes the screaming and running and dying.

Most of the characters in this flick are pretty cool, like the sexu... A fan film, The Cold Heart of Crystal Lake (2003), was also released in 2003. A documentary about Jason, His Name Was Jason: 30 Years of Friday the 13th (2009), was released February 10th 2009.
