About This Game

Narcissu is a thought provoking visual novel series about terminal illness, living, dying, and the relationship between those leaving and those left behind. There are no miracles, no heroes, no villains in this story. Just life and the characters finding their own ways of facing death in an indifferent, relentless, ever-impartial reality.

Praised by fans for its moving story and high production quality, the original games have been download over a million times and spawned a manga and light novel, and has been localized in several languages across the world. This anthology finally brings the games that were never released outside of Japan in any form to the world for eager fans, as well as updating artwork, voice work, and a brand new written chapter exclusive to this anthology: "Sumire".

Further breaking new grounds, this anthology builds on the massively popular music which has captured the hearts of thousands of Narcissu fans by adding 2 video game legends to the musical roster: Chris Huelsbeck of Turrican fame, and Hiroki Kikuta of Secret of Mana fame.

The story is told in 5 games and produced through a successful Kickstarter campaign. The original games (Narcissu 1st&2nd) of the series are available for free on Steam. This anthology series will contain an additional 4 scenarios in the series.

The core of this anthology are the following included games:

Narcissu - The story that started it all. Two terminally ill patients meet on the 7th floor hospice. Neither like the 7th floor, nor their own homes. And so they set off on a journey.
Narcissu 2 - A prequel to the original, telling the story of a patient named Himeko through Setsumi's eyes.
Narcissu 2 - Himeko's Epilogue, details the final moments of Himeko's story.

. I'm not a big fan of Visual Novels, but this one right here is a Masterpiece.. My save game got corrupt. Me and my fanbase are very dissapointed at this.. man good, i cried. I cried... 10/10

Narcissu: Zero released to KS backers and season pass holders!:
Narcissu Zero is ready for launch this week! Yay!

As a small treat for our early supporters, we're giving Kickstarter backers and season pass holders a couple of days early access to the final version of the chapter while we sort out final details related to the store page and launch.

The full store release is scheduled to happen later this week, so keep an eye out!. Minor bugfixes and OST tweak:
A couple of minor updates were released lately,

1) A handful of formatting errors in the script were corrected
2) The OST's Disc 2, Track 06 "Liason" has been upgraded to the full length song instead of the short version.

Narcissu 1 and 2 have been updated and ported to the same engine as the rest of the anthology. . This should help provide a more consistent experience with the rest of the anthology.

Other changes in this update:
* Translation for 1st and 2nd edited and updated to be consistent with the rest of the Anthology.
* Presentation also standardized to voiced mode to be consistent with the rest of the Anthology
* Launcher includes a button for the soundtrack, which opens the soundtrack folder for easy access
* Japanese/English versions of 1st+2nd are accessed via steam's language properties, consistent w/ the rest of the anthology

One tradeoff we had to make in this process was to standardize on a single translator for the whole series (Agilis). Users that prefer the other translations can always play them in the free Narcissu 1st and 2nd release, which remains 100% unchanged.

A sharp-eared fan contacted us saying that we had accidentaly left out one piece of music used in the game, so we did some digging and updated everyone's OST DLC with the additional track (#25 on Disc2). You guys should update your playlists if you haven't yet!

We're super proud to announce that the latest chapter of the Narcissu series, "Sumire" has been released! This time, follow the story of two heroines in a story about terminal illness, past mistakes, and deep, deep regrets.

This leaves the final chapter, "Sumire" to be released later this year.

There have also been major updates to the chapter launcher and file structure to prepare for future updates and releases. Users should experience no visible changes, but very rarely, users who changed their language settings may experience broken save files from the restructuring. The long wait is over! The full soundtrack of the game is now available as DLC! Season pass holders will already have access to the soundtrack. Enjoy!!

Hi guys,
We've pushed out a small update to the OST today: Track 2, Disc1 of the soundtrack has been renamed and moved to Disc2 Track26- dear friend (short ver.). Its original spot, Disc1, Track02 is now the full-length version of the same song. ReplayGain tags were also updated across the OST to reflect the change.

The story behind this was the raw WAV version of the file had never been obtained from the music house during production, only a downsampled mp3 version for reference use had been availble

The game uses the short version in-game so no one really noticed that the incorrect version was in the WAV archives that were then used to build the OST release.

Much later on, a few users brought the issue to our attention, and we first had to confirm that a full version existed, then we had to go track down the original data. It took a while but we found it, hence this update.. Steam Trading Cards Are Here!:
