About This Game

Pigeons Attack is a top-down shooter with combat elements whose goal is to survive the pigeons hordes for as long as possible. For this propose, you will count on upgrades and weapons placed around the level. Collect coins to unlock new characters, maps and magic runes. The game has a lot of humor too. The world is being dominated by pigeons, why not make fun of this situation? Help fight this invasion, alone or with your friends!

What happened? Is this war?

You must have already realized that pigeons are getting more and more loose, right? They sit on our table in an open-air cafeteria, calmly cross a busy street, enter the most unusual places… Not to mention what they do when they see our newly washed car. Of course pigeons want to rule us! We humans are still free, but in Almerath, a faraway kingdom, the invasion has already begun. In the first contact with the creatures of the Kingdom of Pruuzharia, the people of Almerath believed that pigeons were peaceful beings, besides that was the message transmitted by them at the capital of the kingdom. But after seeing a small popcorn sack, they revealed their evil nature.
Well, I got to go now. I feel they are watching me… Before that, I am going to leave the pictures and information I was able to gather. Oh no! Pigeons just got in through my window!

Survive!

Many pigeons addicted to popcorn are going to chase you down, each one with a particular behavior. Unlock new paths of the level to find better weapons and upgrades as to fight back!

Play with friends!

You can play alone or with your friends in the online co-op mode for up to four players! Be careful, explosive weapons will kill you both (I know you’ll try that now that you know it). You can also play the local co-op mode if you have at least one joystick.

Originally, when I picked up the game in the recent steam sale I figured it'd be another one of those games at the bottom of the pecking <\/b> order. However, much to my surprise, Pigeons Attack is a wonderfully entertaining game.

In its premise the game is simple; run, kill, and survive your way through relentless flights of Pigeons whilst purchasing upgrades along the way. And yet despite the games simplicity, the developers have managed to create an entertaining and immersive experience.

To up the anti, the game does also feature a progressive system, similar to the likes of Call of Duty Zombies, wherein each round becomes harder and moves at a faster pace. New enemies are introduced, more pigeons spawn, and with more health - making it much harder to survive. Therefore, you must be at your beak <\/b> performance in order to survive.

Both online, coop, and local coop options are available offering versatility depending on your preferred play style, however, I have not yet managed to find a game online with other players. Although, this is probably due to the small amount of players opposed to any matchmaking issues.

Overall, Pigeons Attack is a fun, unique, quirky game and for the price; I would definitely advise the purchase. The only qualm for myself would be the low drop rate for health potions in juxtaposition with the other drops. It would be nice to see the drop rate increased to promote the longevity of the games.

Additionally, I would personally like to see the coop survival mechanics altered. Currently, if your friend \/ teammate is downed and doesn't get revived in time the game ends. Personally, I would much prefer a feature whereby the person who downed is eliminated from the game until the following round providing the other survivors survive.

Update 0.7.4.1 + Bug fixes:
Hello there!

Update 0.7.4.1 (a lot of numbers and dots, I know) is now live! This update fixes some bugs and brings some small changes to the game:

Fixed bug that was making pigeons stand still forever when using the "Popcorn";
Fixed bug that you could stay trapped inside the sidewalk after getting hit by an enemy on map one;
You can now swap weapons using the scroll wheel;
Tweaked difficulty of the white pigeon.

After a really intense discussion with the pigeons from Kingdom of Pruuzharia, they ordered the white pigeon (that one who poops on all over your screen) to calm down and make things a little easier with humans. The explosion delay was changed from 0.6 to 0.8 seconds and the duration of the effect from 5 to 4 seconds.

You asked, we did it: online multiplayer is now available on today’s update! You can play together with 3 more friends and help save the world from the evil pigeons (or join them by throwing bombs at your “allies”). The multiplayer is still in beta, so if you experience some weird bug, please let us know.

Online Multiplayer. Update 1.1 – Map selection on multiplayer and Spanish!:

Hello guys! How are you doing?

You can now play on the other maps on the online multiplayer mode! After knowing all paths from the Village by heart, guess it’s time to explore new regions of Almerath. We’ve also added Spanish to the available languages, thanks to David de la Nuez!

Here is a summary of what has changed:

Added map selection on the online multiplayer mode (Custom Room);
Added random map on the online multiplayer mode (Quick Match);
Added Spanish to the available languages;
Fixed a bug that prevented the "Don't touch me!" achievement from unlocking in some cases;
Fixed a bug that prevented the joystick controller from properly working when using Liz on a multiplayer match;

The option to invite friends is finally live! Just follow these simple steps:

Open the online mode as usually;
There is now a selection called "Custom Room";
After creating the room, invite your friends!

Forgive us for not having this feature since day one and thank you all for playing the game!

We'll continue updating the game, specially the online mode. The next things we're going to focus are making it easy to play again with your friends (not needing to invite to a new room after game over and being able to play in other maps as well).
