Purchased in order to hook a mayflash light bar into steam link in order to connect wii controller. Read bad reviews but decided to give it a try anyway....low risk high reward kinda thing. I can confirm that hooking the light bar up to the link was easy, and it did work and was completed in a matter of seconds. Started playing a game with the wii controller and experienced a stack overflow in about five minutes. Not sure if it's the link's fault, or the virtualhere software. Either way, not able to perform the very specific task I had in mind. At 12 dollars not sure I'm going to refund, or keep it around in case another use might cross my mind. Would give neutral review if given the option. Giving the blue thumbs up because I don't want my review to be drowned out in the sea of red thumbs down.. Works as advertised. IMO it so improves the steam link that valve should license it for inclusion with the steam link. Any games that had issues detecting a controller are fixed.. Virtualhere basically uses too much CPU on the steam link @ 1080p to support passing through a single steering wheel with FFB. Latency spikes as soon as you give any kind of steering input. Using a controller without virtualhere works perfectly fine.

This is a known issue since June 2016 and still nothing has been done.

After taking this issue to the developer I got great support so that alone is worth a thumbs up from me. I guess it's not virtualhere's fault that the Steam Link's cpu is a bit undercooked.. Read whole review if you are having trouble getting Xbox One controllers to work)

I did a lot of reading before I bought the Steam Link to see what I'd need to get my Xbox One controllers to work on Steam. Everyone pointed me toward VirtualHere. I installed VirtualHere and followed all the directions, but my Xbox One controllers just flashed showing no connection between them and my Microsoft Wireless USB thing.

I requested a refund on this because I don't think it works with the new Xbox One controllers.

The good news is that Steam Link has native support for Xbox One wireless controllers now. Just go to Bluetooth and pair the device. No Wireless USB dongle required.. Bought this product to decrease controller lag, however it increased it instead. Requested refund, and waiting to hear back on it now.. Bought this to use the Guitar Hero Dongle on my link for Guitar- and Clone Hero. Works perfectly! Great response time from the developer too if you ask any questions.. Meh it works but not very user friendly or stable. It has a very specific function but used to be free what it should be

VirtualHere for Android provides the same functionality as the Steamlink version, but runs on Android and works together with the new Steam Link Android App.

When installed, the Steam Link Android App will detect VirtualHere functionality and add the VirtualHere option to the Settings menu. Then it works just like before.

Most Android devices have a better CPU than the Steam Link so performance should be pretty good!

I managed to reproduce a BSOD when disconnecting an xbox one wireless controller, so this update should fix this
