I can't recommend this game enough. Sure it's cartoony and looks cheesey but the game play by far is the most robust action packed shooting game on the vive in my opinion. There are so many features and the devs are pretty active in keeping this updated. The only thing I would like to see is more levels and maybe gun customizations like laser sites and a rocket launcher. Also maybe the ability to switch guns during gameplay. But even without those things, this game is really awesome.. This is one of those games that looks super average in video and screenshots that you really have to play to appreciate. The guns feel natural to use and killing wooden zombie cutouts is so satisfying when they explode into little bits after a headshot. One of the few games i've experienced in VR where an hour dissapeared on moments.. Dismissed this when it first came out as a cheap 'VR cash-in', but I'm glad I revisted it. Zombie Training Simulator is exactly what it sounds like; Its a preparation for the IRL zombie apocalypse - except with a twist: Its a ton of fun! The graphics are simplistic, yet detailed and polished. Although they are not realistic, the game is still highly immersive. Because the zombies are cardboard cut-outs, the game allows you to enjoy the same fun that a bloody, gory, zombie, shooter game gives you, without all the blood, guts, and horror (Although it can be very startling when you turn around and see a zombie you were not expecting to be there, #CardboardJumpscare).

ZTS includes quite a large variety of weapons including many different gun types, along with a katana you can pull out from behind your back. This allows you to continue to fight off the zombies while your gun auto-reloads. Each gun is unlocked by killing a certain total number of zombies. You start off with a pistol, and can eventually end yourself up with 2 SMGs (one in each hand). There is also gas cans and grenades you can throw, to explode a group of zombies. Steak is also available to you. You can use this to slow down the zombies and bait them to a specific area.

The replayability level of this game is very high. This is due to the addictive gameplay that ZTS offers. Killing as many zombies as you can to unlock more weapons is very heart pumping and a ton of fun. Trying to get to a greater wave then your previous record is also very addictive, as is attempting to get higher up on the leaderboard to take over that #1 spot. The many different maps, environments, and difficulties, are also main reasons why this game does not get old.

If you are in any way interested in arcade, shooter style, games, I greatly recommend picking up Zombie Training Simulator. I'm sure you will enjoy it!

NOTE: I do get occasional framerate drops and jittering with my GTX980. Its not enough to ruin the gameplay in any way, but it is noticeable when I use the explosives or there are a ton of zombies that are gathered in one area.. I'm pleaasantly surprised at this game. It avoids being too scary (though it's intense when things start falling apart and the zombie cutouts make it within melee range) but is addictive.

I keep coming back to this game. The huge numbers of targets you have to destroy each wave in survival mode can get ridiculous, but you can really get into the zone as a result, it almost becomes like meditation.

I feel that some of the skill test sections are a little meh, though challenging yourself to improve your personal high score, and advancing in the global ladder makes it something I come back to for a little variery.

I also sort of wish that there's a way to mirror the table layout, As a leftie, it actually works nicely for me to reach with my right hand for steak, grenade, or other explosives. My wife, however, has a harder time since she needs to reach over her shooting arm, or momentarily stop shooting to use her right hand to use an item.

Overall a fun shooting gallery that I enjoyed more than I thought (personally find it having more variety than space pirate trainer, though I think you should get both if you have the money).. great game buy it ,dont let the cardboard cutouts fool you
