Enjoyable and funny. Hoping the next one will have nicer graphics.. I bought it because i wanted more Larry games, was not disappointed.. This. This is the biggest throwback of a classic franchise that is 100% in spirit with what it was before. In a year where we got a spiritual successor to Quest for Glory, and a few years after King's Quest got a remake, both of those games felt different than the ones that came before it, for good or for better. Leisure Suit Larry: Wet Dreams don't dry, however, is yet another instalment in the Leisure Suit Larry franchise (The PS2/PS3 games starring his nephew Lovage not withstanding). Like. Literally. Larry is directly from LSL1, (for reasons that will make sense in the plot) and it suits a current age update perfectly. Larry Laffer always was a hopelessly outdated man, in a day and age he didn't understand. I mean leisure suits weren't exactly popular in the 80's either. So here we have an 80's icon, based on a 60's clich, in a 2018 setting and like I said, it *works*. If you're too scared that this game would be "Too PC" or "SJW", it still pokes fun at the same stereotypes it's always done, the plot of the game is still the same, no target is safe, bearded hipsters and right wing conservatives are both in the sights of the jokes of this game. Drag queens, gay people, effeminate men, everybody. EVERYBODY. Don't worry. The thing is though when I say "This game is another instalment of the Leisure Suit Larry franchise" I mean it in the fullest sense of the world. Puzzles can be a bit obtuse and "Try to figure out what the developers were thinking", and strange logic is abounds. The chains themselves can be a bit long, just when you think you have brought two puzzle chains together after several (possible) hours of trying to figure stuff out, it presents you with another step you have to undergo before get to advance to the next bit in the game. It's a point and click adventure game, warts and all. But the game knows this and even pokes fun at it, at times. It's great. I love it. Thanks. I hate it. I enjoyed it thoroughly, but I could perfectly understand if it wasn't people's cup of tea. But then again, I am a glutton for punishment. And I first met larry when there was a text parser in the games and the game wouldn't pause when you started typing. So I'm used to punishment. Buy it.. For a Larry game without Al Lowe part of the team, this was a well done game.. Not a bad addition to the Leisure Suit Larry franchise, a bit of nostalgia for fans and plenty of pop culture references for new comers. The game play is straight point and click adventure, find object, fit object, chose the right dialogue. Thats pretty much the extent of the puzzles. Some of the newer adventure games these days have some out there puzzles that are so random you would have no idea how to proceed without a walk-though. Not too hard in this game though, I was only stumped once where I had to look up a clue and it still made sense (I admit I would have never figured out. It was clever though). This game shines through the art design and voice acting, they even brought back the original actor from the old games to play Larry AFTER launch! I remember watching the trailer and being put off by whoever the new guy was. But they have done a great job in keeping the story flowing at a steady pace that offers a giggle here and there. BE WARNED! Even though I will thumb this up as it is a worthy game for any Larry/point and click fan, the price is outrageous! At the time I wrote this the price tag was $42.95 AUD. I love these types of games and even I can admit that they hold little replay value. And this one in particular only took me 8 hours! Get it on sale, I recommend no more than $15 AUD at the most.. A more true Larry game. This is more like part 6 and 7.
