This is a great add on but i only have one thing bad to say against it and that the Reversing Lever which you cannot tell which position you are in and also you cannot tell your cutoff percentage without looking closely at the reverser position indicator.if that issue was fixed i would maybe recommend this add to a friend.. This is the most living Steam Locomotive ever, if someone complains about this locomotive then they will complain if they put a real steam locomotive in the simulator. I have all the Pro Steam locomotive available on the market and not one can even be compared with this locomotive. As a Steam Locomotive driver for 30 years now I can just say that this is a real as the real thing, the only thing that needs now to make it 100% steam locomotive is the smell of smoke, steam and oil. Bosman Games have surely win the contest of creating the best Steam Locomotive on the market, it wonu2019t be beaten by anyone. The Locomotive swinging, the gauges moving, the footplate movement at the tender, wow it is just to much for words to describe how awesome this locomotive is made. Gold medal for Bosman games, you really made the best and my views is from being a real train driver on Steam for many years and still rolling on the Sandstone Estates Steam Railway in South Africa and previously working on the large SAR class steam locomotives. I must say that I would easily pay 6 times the price for a locomotive like this and I know some may say I must not mention this but really, I have paid large amounts of money for DLC some times and then after I test locomotives I am disappointed about them, but this one cost was low, so at first I wanted to pass because I did not expect much of the locomotive at this price and then, then came my surprise, one awesome locomotive. This is like a real steam locomotive in a simulator, the sounds are great, even the ejector sounds is awesome because in real life we listen to the sound of the air flow into the ejector and know exactly how much brakes we have applied without looking at the vacuum gauge, now with this locomotive even this is the same. If Bosman can edit all the locomotives on the market to be like this one then I surely would buy them all again. I will call Bosman Games the master of this art.. I purchased this pack no less then an hour ago and I haven't even placed a driver marker on the locomotive in the scenario editor yet and already i am un-pleased with it. After all the "hype" of this pack being so advanced this pack actually lacks some major features. All the black 5's in all liveries (excluding the Ian Riley 3) have got the same builders plate of armstrong whitworth & co, the manual lacks the description on what the last 3 digits in the numbering system mean and do not even states a section about the numbering system in general for any new players, all black 5's (that aren't 45407, 44871 and 45212) have the same shedcode of 26 D which is where Ian Riley is based, theres no unlined BR livery in either clean or weathered state, there's no other versions of the class that had the other types of boilers (Ivatt forward top feed and domeless like 5025 and 5000), the rolling stock provided being the MK1's, MK2, 16t Mineral Wagon and brakevan, are reused stock with different textures that we've had multiple times again and again from the start of the game and from other packs that have been reused in them, the only NEW rolling stock this pack offers is the GUV. The RATB chatting/ token system for the Benavie signalman does NOT have a scottish accent despite the fact the signalman IS scottish. All in all the RRP of u00a314.99 is not really worth it and to best stay with the original Kuju model of the Stanier 5MT and purchase the SteamSoundSupreme packs for different liveries & conditions. This offered so much potential and it was just nothing more then over-hyped and seems all the focus was aimed towards the Riley 3 then the other models which again for u00a314.99 for 3 Black 5's and reused/ retextured stock just doesn't seem to be justified. Hats off to BMG for making a newer looking model of the Stanier 5MT with newer sounds but thats just about it. Honestly if i knew all this before the purchase i wouldn't have broke open the wallet for these.. This is (imho) the best European steam loco available on the Steam Store. Here is my honest appraisal: Pros: Looks fantastic with great attention to detail. It took a noob like me from being HUD reliant, to feeling confident pulling levers etc in the cab - with very little difficulty! (reading the manual is required) Cold start routine is a great thing for immersion seekers. Plenty of things to click, press, open, twiddle, play with - both in the cab and on the exterior. Good sounds Cons: Shed codes cannot be changed (RIP to accuracy in scenarios set in the 60's etc) No details for scenario makers in the manual regarding numbering & placement of headcode lights. Conclusion: As u can see there is no reason really, to say no to this loco - I love it to bits despite it's minor flaws. Thumbs up from me.. Best loco in the entire game so far 10/10, it would be amazing if all steam locos had this amount of effort and detail
